Each year, the Merrill Area United Way Campaign brings our community together to make a meaningful difference close to home. Thanks to generous local donors, we raise and invest funds that support United Way initiatives and trusted nonprofit partner agencies serving individuals and families throughout the greater Merrill area.

These partners provide wrap-around services that strengthen our community in four impact areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency. When you give through United Way, your donation supports more than one program—it strengthens a network of care working together to meet local needs.

Our annual campaign begins in September, as the Merrill Area United Way flyer arrives in your mailbox. The flyer is your invitation to donate and help your neighbors, family, and friends in times of need. If now is not the right time to give, United Way accepts donations year-round. To learn more, visit merrillareaunitedway.org or contact Debbie Moellendorf at 715-536-2016.

Merrill Area United Way accepts annual applications from nonprofit organizations that provide programs and services in Lincoln County, including Merrill, Gleason, Irma, and surrounding townships. Programs should address one of the four impact areas listed above. To learn more, visit the How to Become a Partner page on our website. Applications are due by noon on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

If you or someone you know needs help, United Way’s 211 is a free, confidential service that connects people with local programs and resources. Help is available 24/7 by calling 211, searching or chatting at 211Wisconsin.org, or texting your ZIP code to 898211.
